Luka will not win with this dallas team, don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of luka but you got to agree that something is missing for them to win it all. Maybe a 3rd option. Then a 3&d player. If hardaway jr develops into a good d player then they only need a reliable 3rd option who is ok being a 3rd option. In my opinion love fits that bill well. Kristap could play 5 and love could play 4. 2 stretch big that could clear space for luka to drive and bully his way to the basket. And with love's rebounding and kristap defensive skill set they'll be scary good down low and the second unit in the 4 and 5 spot is already established with maxi and powell. Burke is a reliable 6th man and brunson is another player that's really good off the bench, with the experience of love they can probably win it all next year or the year after that. The problem is the pieces that they may loss if they decided to go on this route, they might loss some young talent and some draft picks but if dallas wants to win a chip now that's a sacrifice I'm good with. Well that's just my opinion
@mijuo roui but if they don't add some key pieces they'll be just that. A team that's fun to watch. They need guys that can bring them to the next level. I don't want to see Luka's and dallas become a team that is fun to watch, i want them to be a team that is contending for a ring. Right now they are a playoff team but from what they are now they'll be drop at the 2nd round if they're lucky they might make it to the conference finals but that's it.

all players in rotation need to have one of their better games within the next 5 or 6 games , glad Luka, THJ and WCS could do that tonight and that the loss to Bulls provided a 31 point Brunson performance at least. Like all members of the team need to see each other doing their thing to properly respect it, value it and then utilize it.
Luka dominated the game (still not at 100% though), but the 2nd unit's performance was poor. We were not able to keep the leads that Luka created (he was +28 in the game) and every time he stepped out of the court, the offensive problems were many. Timmy really stepped up and he made some huge shots to prevent the Rockets from taking the lead. I feel like with KP coming back and Luka approaching his top form the Mavs are gonna be a great team. The defense is way better compared to last year and that's a huge plus!
I still think Luka isn’t there yet. Things were kind of too easy for him last year, hopefully when KP is back, he’ll be back to his normal self from last year.
Luka really have a great vision that is very rare.. @ 2:16 how did he know DFS is free in the corner while trying to beat his defender off the dribble?
The numbers are great, but the Mavs will not unleash Luka's full potential until they get another high level ballhandler who can make plays for others. His usage rate is too high right now and that's why his turnovers are up and his decision making is not always accurate. He struggles from 3 because he barely gets any catch and shoot 3s or open looks, the 3s he takes are almost all incredibly difficult shots. Kind of like it's happening with Steph right now, who has been incredible since Draymond returned and he is getting better shots, another playmaker would make the game so much easier for Luka. It seems crazy to say that since he is putting up these stats, but the Mavs really need to get another playmaker in order to take Luka to the next level and be a championship contender.

He is playing smart and with great basics, plus he has good instincts and awareness about time, basically he is already incredible, but he will explode even more, just to stay injury free and he will surpass all of his idols but one. MJ was one and only in his own category, the closest player to MJ was Kobe.
@Adam J Bill Russell was not better defender then MJ, also he was not better shoter..Reason why Bill Russell have 11 rings is cuz Bill Russell play with team with full superstars and he average 19 points a game. MJ have 6 rings in 6 FINALS, without Superstar like Kemp but he play with Pippen and Rodman both more defenders then scores. LeBron James have 4 rings in 10 Finals, he play with superstars like D Wade, Bosh, Kyrie Irving, and now AD and also both teams have tons of great defenders.... If Luka cant shot how he actually made 33 points?U dont know nothing about basketball and if actually Luka Dončić get 1 or 2 ring will be a miracle with this Mavericks team.

@Shock I did say keep it up right? Besides, Brunson was the hero yesterday. You can't take this away from THJ tho by saying he was bad yesterday. We only move forward. Take the lessons from the loss and just play each games with their best and renewed mindsets.

Luka has been hitting plenty of those fadeways this season. He probably has made more this year than in his first two seasons combined. He barely took those type of shots prior to this season.
i think he added that to his game after kawhi beat him in the playoffs with those type of shots, when the 3 isn't fallin and near the basket is clogged, the midrange is a nice alternative, good to see him hit a few of them during the season
@Sarah Smith but i think, when he takes more threes, it keeps the defense on their toes, so he can get in the paint and dish the ball out to open defenders when players collapse inside the paint. So his threes open up the whole offense. But, yeah, until the threes start falling, taking these mid range shots r more efficient.

Not playing Powell gives Mavs a huge boost, when they started with Willie Mavs got huge lead when they started to put Powell back in the court lead goes bye bye.
