KP needs to keep up with the good numbers, not only when Luka is of the court,injured...!When he start (if he ever) doing that, only then Mavs could be a great team. You just can't keep on doing this, you are 20points in front...that is the time for KP to close the game. When they double Luka, when other players can't score...KP must get down low and finish it!Until that day,Mavs are not dangerous for any big team in the playoffs. It's sad,but true.
KP and Luka look like they have issues...no contact on the floor, no high fives, not even a look after a good pass. Wonder which one of them has gone diva mode, both can, that's for sure.
@Elephant I think you are wrong about soul. Normally, you would be right, but with Luka, wrong or not, he legit thinks he is better of Brons and Birds...Michael is his goal.
@Adam Ringwood kp is the diva and very limited player who thinks he is Dirk level, Dallas needs to trade him cos they are not winning anything with him. Even in this game they started loosing in the third "cos kp needed the ball and wanted to get involved more" . And he mishandled anything. Just play the game and luka will find you in the flow. And when Luka is having such a night...just stay back and play defence and dont embarace yourself with such disgusting body language.
@Adam Ringwood they are both young and ambitious, KP probably thinks he is a legit number 1, i mean he was in NY, Luka has been praised way too much, cant be good for your soul to be compared to Birds and Brons in year 2 of your NBA career, i really hope they can work it out, the potential is yuuuuuge.
I think KPs body language sometimes is telling that he thinks he's not getting the ball enough. Centers can't guard him at the 3 point line and he gets passed up so much standing waiting at the top of the key. He makes those. For the teams sake I think Luka definitely needs to get KP involved more, you don't wanna be in the clutch with luka getting double teamed and having to rely on KP going in cold.
I love when he roast the J&J brothers, them jealaous b..ches never shake his hand after the game unlike Kemba or Smart, even though playing hard on each other, there is sportsmanship and respect, those two are so sour
yup it's so so frustrated to see him miss those bunnies. It's definitely in his mind whenever he misses one. Should really adopt a one shot motion as per coach nick from BBallbreakdown
Sitting KP in the 4th who was an absolute rock on defense for 3 quarters wasn’t a good idea, while the Celts had a continuous layup line to the rim 🤦♂️
@*9*Chase Elliott*9* I agree with you. I frankly thought KP was holding his own pretty well on defence against those smaller guys. But we got the win, so it's alright.
@Sagar Varma he might have agreed but did you notice the back to back plays he made on help defense when he brought him back in when the game got close before the fouling to extend the game started... I think it was an 8 point game at the time... we can't let other teams dictate what we do like that imo just punish them and wear them out on the offensive end bc most teams (specifically playoff teams) have the ability to go small so taking KP out like that sets president other teams notice
Yeah. Carlisle talked about it in the post game interview. Said the celtics went really small and KP was facing all kinds of matchups where they were driving in at a pace, so he decided to sit him out. KP agreed with his decision.
@LPFE 1972 it was a foul according to the actual rules and yes I agree Luka gets called and t'd up for absolute bull shit as he even said bc he don't get the same calls on the defensive end for one thing and doesn't get the treatment the refs give the other superstars in the league for another... anyone want to debate that check the tapes bc it's not a debate its literal fact... that's literally the new nba but not for Luka I guess but he'll still prevail and it's here to stay...the nba just needs to get over that he's that talented and happens to be white... they push the narrative the opposite way, I'm just saying it works both ways in all facts of life
lol ... ridicolous take ... players like Kawhi for example do that routinely and it doesn't get whistled. Double standards, refs trying to shut Luka down but they won't succeed, nobody can stop a new GOAT in the making.
by rule it was a foul in the NBA, but that wasn't what Luka was pissed off about... the calls weren't coming on the other end and that's why he said it's "fucking bullshit" and he was right imo
Holy cow luka, you shoot that step back 3 like it’s a layup with your eyes closed. The media definitely needs to start mentioning luka in the mvp convo. Keep balling luka!
Don't overreact. They are 1-4 without Luka playing, Boston fouled immediately after the ball was inbounded in the last plays, Luka inbounded to Brunson and he got fouled immediately as expected. If it wouldn't have been Brunson, it would be someone else. Not taking away anything from him, was important that he hit them, but someone else probably would have done the same and hit at least 50% which would have still been a win. Game was never in danger even though it sucks that it was so close at the end.
Kobe was a freak of nature and had great driving with mid range accuracy and fade away skills, Luka is more controlled and has an uncanny start stop ability with a much better 3 point shot
I didn't think he looked tired I thought he was in a groove most of the night and was just deferring to the screener bc he's a basketball player first and knew that the screener (usually Brunson) had straight lines to the basket coming off the pick with the defender trailing EVERY time... they could run iso pick with Luka with anyone on the floor except imo the disappointment that is Richardson who by the way during that run had 2 or 3 terrible plays and that skip pass Luka threw was a bad decision, even if the offensive player had been there it didn't have a chance...
I think his back is still bothering him some. He missed 2 games recently because of back soreness and been wearing heat pads during practices. You could see him a few times out there leaning over i would imagine he was trying to stretch out his back.
No brainer...even if you say hes fat hes still dropping a lot of points...weigth is important if you can handle it specially in attacking the rim or a lowpost againts smaller guards..
Boston is a great defender turn over is given in this game specially smart was guarding him...smart is one of the best defender in nba ..smart can even outrebound big guys for offensive rebounds
@Alak when you are the main weapon by far of yor team and take more responsabilities than the rest of the team...you can fail more..nothing new.,.,..we have seen dallas without luka is a joke so probably those fails are forgiven when you have so much from him
@dmking26 yeah very true. I just wish he'd play less hero ball in the final minutes. But then again, he still makes those difficult shots, so I shouldn't really be complaining.
Turnovers were a problem, although that’s not entirely on him. His teammates were just standing around while he was getting doubled. You gotta make some cuts to the basket or move to the ball & give him some help. They just expect him to bail them out all the time.
@Valerio Piccini of course Luka doesnt care about mvp 😊 will get multiple ones in the future for sure. Its just this god damn haters that use idiotic arguments against it. We all know that seeding always afects the mvp charts but thats the sole reason why it is bullshit. I think an exact same player on a shit team is better than the exact same player on a good team 🥂
This is what makes Luka 99% unguardable, every move, position, every step are calculated. 😂😂😂Once he find your weakness, your'e done! He's an absolute terror when it's one on one so it's not surprising if he's doubled team most of the time. He's an hybrid player of great poise, composure, footwork and especially unbelievable vision.
it’s amazing. He’s got such good control. It’s not like he’s got super speed. So his skill level is unlike anything we’ve seen at this age. God damm imagine in 5 years...
if you watch him on d (which he's still learning nba wise) he has quicker feet and start stop ability than he gets credit for and has been more importantly playing good iso defense
