The Mavs had the number one offense in the league last season by far, so their offense doesn't need much improvement but it will most likely only get better, and since they are a young growing team you can expect their defense to get better also. That said, if they stay healthy they are definitely a contender in the west. Plus they have a much better head coach than the Clippers and from what I've seen there are more teams in the west that are better than the Clippers. Denver and Utah are the first that come to mind, but don't forget about Portland and Houston. You never know when Dame or Harden can go off and score 50+.

Biggest threats are: - Mavs if healthy - Nuggets if Murray plays like he played during the playoffs - Clippers if PG plays like he played during the playoffs. - Golden State / Utah In that order. I'm tired of people saying how good the clippers are. They couldn't even beat the nuggets. Tired of those excuses about meltdowns, covid and that lebron had time to rest, like dude, there was covid for everyone, there was resting for everyone, not just the clippers, and the fact they lost against the nuggets blowing up the 3-1 lead shows they're not mentally tough nor prepared. Stop making excuses for this. When Miami lost against Dallas in 2011 while being favorites everyone laughed at it.
